As the director of user experience and brand design I work across a small but mighty startup team to ensure consistency, elegance, and simplicity within both Product and Marketing. I strategize with the C-Suite on product innovation and product market fit. I facilitate design thinking across the org and lead user-research from user interviews to usability studies to force us to fail-forward. Finally, I created and maintain a design system - designing the full platform for consumer, business and client across mobile to desktop from visiting to member experiences.

Our small team designs valuable and informative content (blogs, articles, testimonials, video, and display ads) that attract and engage our target audience to generate organic traffic to the Perch website. We also create social media and online ads to connect with our target audience and promote our products or services, share interesting and engaging content, build brand awareness and attract new followers who may become customers. We design experiences like "Refer a Friend" to encourage existing customers to refer their friends, family, and colleagues. We also design and send regular emails and direct mail with updates about our products or services and enrollment opportunities when projects open in our target audiences' area.

Results? Over 130 managed solar farms across the united states, and $17,000,000 + delivered discounts.

Utilizing an iterative process and customer testing, we continually improve our website to broaden our audience and promote community solar. With this design-first approach there are tickets in the engineering backlog that will take us into 2025 and beyond. We have improved not just the product but the way the team brainstorms and solve problems together. As Perch Energy expands into new markets across the country, we designed for scale within the enrollment and product to make it easier for customers. Our product's entire user experience, from basic to membership, is designed to be flexible across mobile and desktop platforms. Best part? It's built to scale.
